More than Carers

More than Carers: was a project which began in 2018, following on from the success of a locally made documentary entitled More than Memory.

The More than Carers film was created to raise awareness to wider audiences of the needs and demands placed on carers. Many carers are completely unprepared for taking on the caring role and many don’t even recognise that they are, in fact, carers as the physical and emotional demands of caring are often overlooked in society. Carers often put their own needs last and this is detrimental to their own health and wellbeing.

The More than Carers film aimed to promote  self-worth and reduce mental health issues with carers by demonstrating how self-care and nurturing enhanced their self worth and reduced depression and anxiety. This 20 minute film was produced and directed by Lucien Simon from Mast Films with support from Kingborough Council and Calvary Community Grants.
